Barriers to Intercultural Communication

The five barriers to intercultural communication are as follows:
1) Culture shock - feeling of stress and anxiety a person experiences
2) Ethnocentrism - belief that your culture traditions and assumptions are superior
3) Sterotype - place a person or group into an inflexable, all -ecompassing category
4) Prejudice - judgement or opinion of someone formed before you know all the facts
5) Assuming simularities - same group doesn't mean assume you think the same
Assuming simularities - don't assume that another is different for you
