Being Famous

I do not believe that I would like to be a celebrity. I would like to have the money, the cars, the houses, but not the fame. With the fame comes stalkers, media, news reporters, etc. I hear stories on the T.V. all the time about the actors or actresses and what kind of drama there are in. Or even all the terrible things they write about you, or the horrible pictures they find to put in the tabliods. The life must be very annoying because you can not just get in the car and go, there is usually someone watching.

Decorating

Decorating is one of my all time favorite activity. I have always had this interest once I started cleaning my own room as a child. All of my places that I ever lived were neatly decorated. In fact my mom gave me the nick name "Nancy Neat". Along with decorating is of course shopping and craftiness, which I am also great at doing as well. It's getting more difficult to do with three kids, but I still try my best to keep a clean house. I do have to admit I try to keep things looking like a magazine as much as possible (with some exceptions). I actually start to get irritated most of the time if to much stuff is out of order.

Body Art

Body art which consisits of tattoos and piercings have many mixed feelings among the people. Lots of people get them and many do not because of a religious belief. I have my ears peirced and that is it, but I kind of do want to get a tattoo. I have not given it to much thought though because in the bible it says not to alter your body. My hubby feels the same way about this situation, although just last night we were talking about we both wan to get one. So who knows what the future holds!

cultural background

My cultural background is consists of Irish, Indian, Jewish and English. The Irish and Indian is from my fathers side of the family, and the Jewish and English is from my mothers side. I do not know that I can actually identify myself to any particular culture. I get along with every nationality. Up until a few months ago, I never new about my mothers side. She says her parents never spoke of those kinds of things. My sisters and myself always just assumed that we were Irish and Indian. My father as well never really spoke of his nationalities either. Sorry, I don't really have much to say about it, but It just never really came up in our family.

E

ESSAYS

1) The title of this essay is Gifts, by Ralph Waldo Emerson.

2) The approach used in this essay was a surprising or provocative.

3) IT is said that the world is in a state of bankruptcy, that the world owes the world more than the world can pay, and ought to go into chancery, and be sold.

4) I believe that the introductory statement was effective. Although a little difficult to follow, because it was in a poem style type of writing. Some people including myself find this style of writing intriguing. You can tell that this is a recent essay because it is talking about the debt that the people are in today.

5) For the conclusion i feel the author chose a "call to action" style, because the author is rounding the point that we don't have to get gifts to feel good about ourselves. A direct quote that i liked was "They eat your service like apples, and leave you out". From this phrase i understood that services will take your money proudly, but in the end you will have the debt!

My husband and my kids are proud, screw the rest of my family! This is an historical event. I think that he is well educated, and quit capable of changing this economic disaster that we are in. I'm proud of him and his family. I think it was so sweet how Obama mentioned to his girls that they earned the new puppy, in the new white house. Afterall this was a long road for his whole family.

Career goals

My journal today is about my career goals, and my courses of study now. I have been in the medical field now for about 12 years. I started out going to an adult school to become a CNA. The pay was o.k., but the work was really hard. It was also really sad to see these residents in need, not really getting the care they need. I continued with caregiving, which the pay was better and the work was easier. I'v continued in the medical field, and I'm going to school to become a Pharmacy Technician. I'm not sure what the future holds for me, but i now that it will be in the medical field!

Conflict styles

I ranked Comprimise, which seeks the middle ground. I will give up something to get something, but a lose/win approach to conflict. I agree with this test.

If I had to pick a different one to suit me, I guess it would be collaboration. Which views conflict as a problem to be solved. I would negoatiate to achieve a positive solution foe all involved in the conflict. This is a win-win approach to conflict. I agree that this one also fits my style.

It really depends on the situation at hand!!

Our ethics teacher

Aint that about a bitxx, I can't believe he did that. Alot of people in the class put trust in him.
And little girls, what are these people thinking. He tought ethics and morals. Is that morally right what he did! Was it worth lossing his career, his family. Not to mention the fact that he was in the service. What is this world coming to !!!!!!!!

Listening test

This week took a listening skills test, although I thought that I didn't do very well, the results said my mental attentiveness is generally good, but needs to improve. I may occasonally find my mind wandering. I just don't have alot of time to be bull-sh!!in, if you know what I mean. I feel like there's a time for discriptive and a time for the nessasarry info to get across; w/o description. You have to respect about the time, place, etc.

It said that I recognize my inner value and that it shows in my relationships and career/schol success. I was not surprised by the test, and it was what I expected, I am a good careing person. I believe in doing right and not trying to get over most of the time; it really depends on the situation!
